Pete phoned occupational therapy today to arrange an assessment for me. They said I'm to go for the first part next Monday at 3:00pm in Coseley where they have a sort of flat set up for me to try all the different 'ability' products. Then they'll arrange a follow up appointment (which may take some time due to waiting lists) and do another assessment here. They did ask where we lived as they do have both a flat and a house set up that they do assessments in. When Pete said that we live in a flat they asked about a handrail in the stairwell and said that they would possibly add another handrail so that there's two, rather than just the one.

I've just finished another Expert Patient's course; I missed two sessions on this one. Unfortunately my condition was fairly bad at one or two point and I wasn't able to go along. Some of the people on this course really did get a lot of benefit from it, you could actually see the change in them over the 6 weeks which was fantastic. It's weird thinking that in the past I've happily worked 60 hours a week (well ok I did break slightly with that but still I did it) and now one afternoon a week for 6 weeks is too much for me.

We're going to sort out a mobility scooter rather than a wheelchair as we figure it's more sociable. I can pay using my DLA so that isn't a problem. Finger's crossed we should sort it in the next week or two.

A good friend of mine has contacted me saying that she's unable to meet up because she's ill and has been signed off work for a few days. She's asked to meet up in the daytime next week instead. As she's pregnant I'm more than a little worried about her right now. Crossing fingers that she's okay.

Now I've finished the course I have a few things I need to get on a sort out.

Just had a phone call from the warm front grant assessor asking if he can pop round to do an assessment tomorrow. At least we'll find out one way or another fairly soon according to that
