Beer Review 3 - Blackout Stout

This is not a review so much as it is a testimony.

At 3 dollars, the Great Lakes Blackout Stout is so very much worth the price of admission. The price kept me from trying it for a while, but I finally got around to it. And the good news is that at 9% ABV, you can get the same amount of coziness per dollar as you would with your average 2-dollar ( Read more... )

Haven't tried that stout. Seems like your much more of a brewbaby than when I saw you this summer. At the time, you came across as not too into it.

I was reading Ken Rexroth recently and thought of you. An odd thought I suppose, but so many associations can flood the brain when one reads. You popped into my head when I read, "It is rather late in the day to have to recall that the Old Testament is one of the most disagreeable books in all the unpleasant history of religion." Then, further on, I remembered our chat with the war veteran at Millie's house. It came to mind because of this: "Today we think of Islam as a rather elementary and provincial religion--or at least of the Koran as such a book. But we forget, confused by centuries of misleading apologetics, what an enormous advance over both Christianity and Judaism Islam was." This was written in 1958 by a man who was not a member of any religion at all.

Today I came across the following link: http://www.bettybowers.com/isbushgay.html

Perhaps you have already seen it. I didn't look long. Just a glance, and I figured you might have a chuckle.

Hopefully all is well out there. If you've been up to no good, I'd be glad to hear about it.

More later.

I was into it. I just prefer micro brews. I liked Guinness alright.

I'll definitely check out isbushgay later. I'm busy at the moment.
