I can't recall right now what the ingredient is that substitutes for sugar in sugar-free candy, but it plays havoc with your bowels if you eat too much of it.
That exercise about putting your foot on top of your knee is one of the exercises I did in PT. The problem now is I can't get that foot up to rest on my opposite knee anymore. It stretches the piriformis muscle that surrounds the sciatic nerve and it works really well, if you can do the exercise.
No, I don't have a pacemaker. I have paroxysmal atrial fibrillation which means it comes and goes and corrects itself. Do you have a pacemaker?
I just Googled spinal stenosis and it would seem I have some symptoms of that as well as degenerative disc disease.
Yes, my husband was sent from our local hospital to one three hours away and they put in a stent. He was discharged then ended up back there for another stent. Three weeks later he was back for a third one. They would have liked to do bypass surgery in the first place, but he's 85 and they didn't think he could survive the surgery. He has lost most of his strength, but seems to be doing OK now on a slew of meds.
My cataract surgeries went well. I had the first one while my husband was in the hospital. The only difference I noticed was the difference in how I saw colors. I have very bad astigmatism so that wasn't corrected until a couple of months after the second surgery when I got new glasses. THAT really made the difference because suddenly I could see road signs and things in the distance again like cell towers. I hadn't driven for over a year because I couldn't see well enough to risk it.
I agree with your observations about the golden years.
