florence-bound
i am waiting for my first of three flights to florence. dad dropped me off about an hour ago and ive firmly planted my butt in the corner with boarding pass in hand. it still doesnt feel real. am i actually doing this? i am going to be so happy and blissful once i get situated but until then, im just going to be tired and confused. i can only hope that i adjust quickly and make friends even faster.
the last few days in las vegas we great. i tried to do the least amount of activity possible (im using traveling as my excuse to be as lazy as i possibly can before im tense and nervous for 48 hours). i hung out a great deal with family and had lindsay, lahaina, charlie & ivan scattered in.
ill be arriving in florence (if none of my planes are late) at 12:50pm or 3:50am pacific standard time. when i get my address and phone worked out ill post both so i can be contacted if need be. im so curious to see what my apartment will look like, along with who my roommates will be.
i made myself a cheatsheet for my arrival in florence:
"cerco le mie valige" - im looking for my suitcases
"mi chiamo Amanda Hakan" - my name is amanda hakan
"abito negli Stati Uniti, a Las Vegas"- i live in the United States, Las Vegas
"cinque-sei-vove da Los Angeles"- 569 from los angeles
(in case they lose them, which they usually do)

"dove il posteggio dei taxi piu vicino?" where is the nearest taxi stand?
"quanto costa per andare a via sant antonio, 11" how much is it to go to via sant antonio, 11
"c'e una tariffa speciale per l'aeroporto?"- is there a special rate for the airpot
so i can get from the airport to the SACI office to recieve my apartment assignment
before i make my way on the plane, i want to say thank you to every single person who helped me with anything, from financial things to advice and shared experiences. i love you all and am greatful to know each and every one of you.
