Hermione Granger needed a break. Desperately.
Between Harry's constant state of panic over the Triwizard Tournament and Ronald's increasingly dramatic mood swings regarding Harry, Hermione was feeling a bit overwhelmed. Not to mention that of course, on top of her own schoolwork, she was trying to make sure both of them were passing too. Well, moreso Harry, as Ron was getting further and further on her bad side lately. He mostly wanted to whine, ask for help with his studies, or beg for an autograph from Viktor Krum. Oh, and Krum. She was avoiding him too. Not that he had done anything wrong - he was perfectly polite, but really, she just didn't have the time to listen to him mispronounce her name today.
"HERMIONE!!" ... Good grief, Harry Potter could really yell when he needed something, and she felt bad, truly she did, but she just needed a break. She turned and looked over her shoulder at Gryffindor tower. She sighed softly and promised herself to find Harry later.
At least it was the weekend. She could take slight comfort in that. She found a nice, quiet place near the lake and set her satchel down. Her unruly hair was already trying to escape its ponytail, despite that charm Padma had taught her. She blew a few strands out of her face as she sat down. She should've gotten straight to work, but instead, she inhaled deeply and let out a breath, happy for the quiet.
...not that it lasted.
