Hermione Granger happens to be exhausted as she enters her flat. She kicks off her shoes whilst rubbing her temples. It's been another long day at the Ministry. She loves her work, she does, but it can be loads of research, even for her. She gently sits her enchanted purse down on the table, then carefully removes a stack of books and files from it. She always brings work home. Always. She glances over at the calendar that hangs on the refrigerator - it's so ordinary and muggle, and it reminds her of home. She tilts her head though then smiles. "Crooks! I forgot about my holiday!"
Crookshanks is older now, but still agile as ever. She imagines it's the half kneazle part of him, as he'd be feeble in cat years by now. She sits beside him on the sofa, ruffling the fur atop his head. "What'll we do for holiday? I've got books to read..." But for once, that doesn't captivate her much. She leans forward, resting her elbows to her knees and holding her head in her hands. Perhaps she'll just draw a bath and read. It's a nice, simple plan.
But as she leans forward, her pendant tumbles out from beneath her scarlet blouse. She's worn that key around her neck for years now, but she's never gotten the nerve to use it. She sits back on the sofa, studying the key intently. It doesn't look magical in nature. In fact, he could've disenchanted it by now, but she doesn't like to think of that. She bites her lip then nods as she feels a swell of that Gryffindor courage rise up. She steps into her bedroom and tosses a few things into a small bag - most of her bags are enchanted now. She moves about quickly, causing a few strands of her curly hair to come out of their bun. "Crookies? You've got food and water, like always." She slips the smaller bag into her purse and steps back into her shoes. She bites her lip again. She hasn't seen Loki in ages, though occasionally when mischief happens about the Ministry - particularly near her office - she wondered if that's his way of looking in on her. When they said on the telly that Twinkies weren't going to made anymore, she wondered what he thought and sniffled quite a bit. Little things make her thoughts go to him, but he hasn't appeared - as least not where she could see - since she was still basically a wide-eyed child.
She closes her eyes and slips the key in the door. She waits a good minute or two before she opens her eyes and happens to be a little shocked to see the villa. She has no idea what she may walk into - surely he has a new pet by now! It's dark though, and she grabs her wand, murmuring, "lumos." She steps around, following the soft glow of her wand. "Loki? Loki, are you here? I...should've called first or something. But as I recall you hate the summoning spell, and they no longer manufacture the key component..." She sighs, thinking this was likely a silly venture. She stands still, looking about as best she can. Her words come out much softer than she expects, "It's alright if you've forgotten me. I just missed you."
