Update tiiiiiiiiime!

-My ride home was filled with conversation about turning the highway system into a cars-on-railway system (much better than awkward silence) and a 30-minute stopover to buy Dutch chocolate that involved driving back and forth (and around) the same street at least half a dozen times.

-Friday night was awesome. *hugs friends*

-The rest of the weekend/today was spent mostly shopping around/going to appointments with my mom, being cold, and re-watching RahXephon.

-As a result, I have obtained one pair of jeans, a (fake) tooth, a $10 grab bag gift (in adorable Hello Kitty "shopping bag"), and a snuffly nose. I also have new pairs of contacts and glasses on order (it's been four years since I got a new pair of glasses ...). I am 4/7 volumes in to RahXephon.

-I read Boogiepop at Dawn while waiting for my ride (and upon arriving home). Sooooo good and full of background info -- on the death of Nagi's father, on the origin of Boogiepop, on the hospital we see all the time, on the "serial killer five years ago." It makes me want to watch the anime series again and see what new insights this information brings.

-I started reading Jurassic Park, but I am not sure if I will finish. I love the movie, and in this case, that may be enough for me when I have many, many other books I can read instead.

-Work tomorrow. And tomorrow evening, a dressy Christmas party with my high school friends. Pfft, dressy. Will probably be wearing the same thing I wore last year.

-My family's computer is dead. Dead, dead. Hmm. It starts turning on normally, then initiates a drive check (or disc check? whatever) for the c drive. It completes the check, then ... it goes to a blank, black screen, with the cursor visible and movable. Weird.

-I don't know what to do while at home. Having free time is bizarre, and often leaves me sitting around, bugging my cat or randomly chatting with my mom. I know there's a lot I could be doing (reading, watching anime, playing video games), but I can only do one of those things for so long without feeling like I need to move on to something else "more productive." I suppose it's lingering guilt for using these things to procrastinate on homework *read all nine volumes of Genshiken during exam week* It's also been hard to do stuff on the computer because 1) as stated, the family computer is unusable and 2) my own computer is difficult to use because the only place I have for it at the moment is on the suitcase in the middle of my room (which is where I am awkwardly typing now). I usually have my computer on a little desk in the basement, but that piece of furniture is currently buried under a mountain of stuff. So yes, I may not be on AIM for a while until I have a more convenient place to type.

That's all for now. I'm almost excited for work -- if only because I can pick up my interlibrary loan items ^^;; Anyway, I'll be in the Children's Dept. the whole time, which is generally less stressful than the Adult's.

book stuff, life stuff, anime stuff
