I'm not going to let myself get away with not posting; if I do nothing else constructive this break (perish the thought), at least I will write here.
I ordered from the bookcloseouts.com 99 cents sale. I was sad to see that they didn't have the volumes of Suikoden III that I needed, but at least I got a few other things for cheap: Fruits Basket 12-15 (four more down, how many to go? I missed a few in between), Demon Ororon 4 (ha ha, took me long enough to complete this), and Hibiki's Magic 1 (a random cute-looking title). I was very tempted to get more, but in the end, I really should be saving my money for, you know, all the other stuff I already know I want to buy instead of the unknown stuff that just looks shiny for whatever reason.
I'm also planning on putting in an order at RS since they're having a Bandai sale right now, and I want to get Code Geass pt. III. Only problem is, I'm having trouble deciding what else to put in my order to get free shipping. I could finally purchase Vampire Princess Miyu. I could buy the two soundtracks for Tsukihime (the show didn't impress me, but recently the first OST came up on my iPod and I remembered how much I love the music). I could even opt for the recent collection of Gundam 08th MS Team, which I've had a yen to watch recently (this option is also the most expensive, though, and I suppose I could dig up the VHS I recorded when 08th ran on Cartoon Network). So I think I'll just wait for the new weekly specials to come on Thursday. So I can add more options and further complicate things. That way I can see if there's anything else I might be interested in, and if not, I'll probably go for VPM. My, it'd be weird to finally buy it after thinking about buying it for a year and a half (I'm not even joking). But the soundtracks ...
Yeah, I vacillate when it comes to buying things. A lot.
While at school, I'd been wanting to re-watch various series from my anime collection. But now that I'm home, all I can seem to do is stare blankly at my DVDs, unsure of what I *really* want to see. That's not to say I don't like the series I own anymore; it's more that it's easier to watch a particular series when I'm in the mood for it, and for the most part, that mood has not stuck around.
I parsed out the first volume of Kare Kano between yesterday and today. Watching that show really brings me back; it was one of my earlier anime series, and the manga was one of my first as well (if not the first). The first volume of the anime really works well on its own, too; the final episode on it has more of a conclusive feeling than the actual ending of the series. It's sad to me now that the ending has tainted my opinion of the show so; for the most part, it's really delightful. Hilarious, touching, you know, all those good things that romantic comedies strive for. It has such a feeling of joy to it. ... My only difficulty was that it's so energetic and frenetic that it's almost tiring to watch; that's why I couldn't make it through the whole disc at once.
(I'm turning into an old fogey o_o)
I'm not sure what I'll watch next. I was excited to remember that I have the Escaflowne movie at home (the series is at school), so I might watch that. (I was trying to think of DVDs I have that are so pretty that they need the big TV to be enjoyed; in terms of animation alone, Girl in Gaea is about my favorite DVD, and it's been a while since I've watched it.) Mushishi is also a good option since I haven't watched through my DVDs yet; I may also pick up where I left off at Christmas break on RahXephon.
Yes, I'm just rambling; I think I've written enough that I can stop now.
Until tomorrow (?)
