So, um, I haven't posted any kind of entry in almost 5 months, and now the thought of doing so is really daunting because so goddamn much has happened since then, but I've really got nothing else to do so I might as well give it a try.
May: I graduated from college. Really and truly and 100% completely. The thing that no one thought would be done, I did it. I graduated from college in 4 years. I was under the impression that I had 3 credits to go (an academic elective), so I would be walking, and taking a class online over the summer. Come Graduation Day, though, I walk across the stage, get me (supposedly) empty tube, and sit down. People were opening their tubes to find library notices, so I opened mine, only to find a degree. A real degree. Long story short, they managed to fuck around with some credits back from when I was a Music Theatre major and graduate me fo' real. So that was, um, an extremely pleasant surprise. Then I moved back home and lounged around. I got a job at the end of May, but didn't have to report to training until June 18th, so I had 3 weeks off to lounge around.
June: Lounged around for the first 17 days, and then I started work. At GEICO. Yup, I worked as a Billing Support Technician in the Homeowners and Mortgage Department. Mostly I took payments from people, or looked into it when their policy was cancelled because their mortgage company didn't pay the premium on time. All in all, it was a real gravy job. Good money, decent hours, awesome people - I always said I couldn't work a desk job my whole life, but honestly, it wasn't so bad, I could've stayed there a while. And I did, through all of June and July and into...
August: When I quit my job on August 18th to get ready for the biggest change in my life. I turned 22 on August 21 and saw Snakes on a Plane. Then I packed a lot. And then on August 28th, I hopped into my rented SUV and drove to Portsmouth, NH. Well, I drove to Winchester to say goodbye to everyone first, and then I drove to New Hampshire. It was a long-ass drive and I never want to do anything like it again. But here I am, all settled in. I've been here almost a month, it's o hard to believe. I haven't taken pictures yet, but I will soon, and put them up here. I have an apartment with my girlfriend and our cat, Roast Beef. We have a kitchen and a bathroom and two sets of stairs. I have a new bank and a new library card and things are pretty awesome. No job yet. I auditioned for a show and got called back, but that was almost a week ago and I haven't heard anything from them yet, so I'm not holding my breath. Today I set up an interview on Friday for an Assistant Manager position at a sub shop. Not really my dream job, but it pays as well as GEICO and damn better than being an actor, so if it pays the bills, I can't really complain too much.
Um, this was a super condensed version of my life the last 4 or so months, but it covers the big parts I guess. I have all kinds of free time so I guess I can update more, except there really isn't much to say. I don't have a car, so I walk everywhere now, and my feet are getting all kinds of callused. Courtney took me to an abandoned parking lot last weekend and started teaching me how to drive stick shift, so I can borrow her car sometimes. I want to save up and buy a used motorcycle, but that won't really be of any help in the coming winter, so. I need to buy snow boots.
