bitch, I was in proximity

Proximity to what, you ask? Well, nothing in particular, really. That just happens to be one of my (many) favorite lines from the insanely good Pushing Daisies. Actually, y’know, “good” does not even begin to cover it. I’m not even sure there exists an adequate word to describe this show. As you may have gathered, I recently caught up on it, and well, it has created an itty bitty problem for me.

So I think that Pushing Daisies is, more or less, the perfect show. I mean, I really, really, REALLY love it. This, in and of itself, is not a problem. The problem is how it’s sheer amazingness has greatly diminished my enthusiasm for all the other shows on my list. Nothing else seems like it would measure up, so I simply cannot get myself excited to watch another one. My friend has lent me her DVDs of the first season of True Blood, so I guess that’s as good a place as any to start. But after that, I’m not sure what to do. This is where y’all come in. I would love to know which show you think I should check out next. Here, in alphabetical order, is my list:

And there you have it. I would like to state for the record that I have already seen the first seasons of Heroes (which I enjoyed so much, it has made me reluctant to continue the series, as I’ve heard there is a serious drop in quality), and Lost (which was good, yeah, but personally, I don’t understand what all the fuss is about. It must improve a lot over the years). I’ve also seen the first three seasons of Alias (just somehow never got around to finishing the last two), as well as a few episodes here and there of the O.C., Supernatural, and Ugly Betty. So that, as they say, is that. Any help would be appreciated.

*sigh* I just…I am so furious with ABC. And incredibly frustrated too. I simply cannot understand how they could cancel a show like Pushing Daisies. Do they not want the world to experience happiness? I mean, it literally has everything anyone could possibly want in a tv show. A unique concept, clever writing that is both hilarious and touching, gorgeous costumes, pie, and the best. Cast. Ever. They did a spectacular job of bringing the characters to life. Seriously, each episode left me undecided as to whom I love more. I guess I just appreciate them all equally (well ok-maybe Olive a little more than the others. But that’s because she is the most awesome person ever, and my love for her knows no bounds). I need to give mad props to Ellen Greene, Swoosie Kurtz, Anna Friel, Lee Pace, and especially Chi McBride and Kristin Chenoweth for being fabulously brilliant at what they do. Sure, their run may have been short, but it was also extremely memorable. Thanks for being so great, guys.

That’s all folks.
