Let's travel by map!

1. You know you've been fandom-adjacent for a while when your userpics expire because your credit card information is out of date. Fixed, though.

2. It is possible I am so excited about my Yuletide assignment that I have already written 1500 words. As much as the AO3 signup format is cumbersome and counterintuitive, it encourages putting more thought into the fandoms you offer and increases the chances of an "OMG YAY" assignment. As a veteran ficathon wrangler, I approve of that feature.

3. I am here in the land of shitty DSL and lots of real life commitments (*waves to norabombay*) so have not watched the Trophee Napoleon Bonaparte or the Rasputin Cup. Happy to hear that all my favorite Detroiters have qualified for the GPF, though.

4. Yesterday, I watched two hours of fanfic, and by that I mean, I went to the Muppet movie. It was goofy, self-aware, Mary Sue insertion fic, and I thought it was really fun. It was absolutely not a Jim Henson movie, so I understand why Frank Oz refused to associate himself with it. That reinforces my feeling that the movie is not just adaptation but unapologetic fanboy playtime. It's the kind of fic I like, too, where the writer is addressing his problems with the source material and celebrating his love for the source at the same time.

5. Shows I watched with my mom and did not like, brought to you by the letter H:
a) Hell on Wheels. Mostly, it was boring, but also, to quote Mom: "I don't think that's how the West was won."
b) Homeland. I wanted to love a show with Clare Danes and Morena Baccarin in it, but it was all just pointless naked breasts and racism masquerading as social commentary. Also, nobody talks like that, and not in the good way.
c) Harry's Law. Mostly we just fell asleep in the middle of that.

6. In conclusion, Spider-man lindy hop.
