1. The
Johnny Weir Savefile project is fully restored -- to its former glory and then some. 81 files, that's a lot! All labeled and organized for your viewing pleasure. To watch him is to love him. I also finished restoring the
Irina Slutskaya and
Tanith and Ben projects, which are hours of fun in their own right. Next up is Tiny Paul Wylie, because the early 90s are such a thing right now.
2. The five songs I can't stop listening to, September edition. Very short blurbs, because I'm physically and emotionally tired.
The Format -
The First SingleA repeat appearance. Pure indie pop awesomeness, with great lyrics.
Monster Movie -
Driving Through the Red LightsSunny electro-pop with a twinge of desperation.
The Hussys -
SnowboardBreezy summer pop for wintertime. "I haven't touched my snowboard since you broke my heart" is the sweetest, truest chorus I've heard in a while.
Jesus H. Christ and the Four Hornsmen of The Apocalypse -
Connecticut's For FuckingA truer song has never been penned.
Dan Bern -
MarilynMarilyn Monroe/Henry Miller RPF, cleverly disguised as a folk song.
3. I have a recs post to finish, a story to edit, and some meta to share, but all of these things will take time, and time is the fire in which we burn something I might actually have this weekend. We shall see!
