Sunday afternoon, devoid of witticisms.

There's still time to do this thing. Seriously, it's a no-commitment challenge, and you give me an excuse to read poetry. And then you write stories and other people read them and leave feedback and it's just how fandom is supposed to be.

What? Fairy tales are nice.

justababyduck and I went to see Little Miss Sunshine last night. I was disappointed, because I was really hoping to like it. But the longer it went on, the more I was just cringing -- I have a low tolerance for embarrassment humor. I also felt like, well, pretty much what Owen Gleiberman said in Entertainment Weekly. I did think Steve Carell was amazing, though. Sometimes, it's hard to tell if an actor like him is versatile, but this was a substantially different role from the other stuff I've seen him in, and he nailed it -- one of those performances where it feels like the actor is really inhabiting the person he's playing. In an otherwise affected and smug movie, that genuineness stood out.

I'm rewatching the last few episodes of Sex and the City, because they make me cry.

I have this vague idea about remixing the current skateslash project, a remix that would shift the focus in such a way as to add femslash. Y'all might have noticed that one of my big consternations about this fandom is that it's full of women but difficult to slash them. And even if that doesn't work? As the wise fox1013 says, there can never be enough gen RPF.
