Brenda's at it again.

I finally watched The Peacekeeper Wars. It was just waiting in my DVD player for the unfortunate convergence of cable outage and the attack of the campus cold. It was... overwhelming. I mean, there's a lot there, and I'm not sure I have reactions to it yet. I might have to watch it again.

Tonight's Family Guy was so very pleasing. It took this show one hell of a long time to make the transition from mild disdain to occasional viewing to the official schedule, but I'm glad I put it on the grid this year. Sunday night is a good night to laugh like an idiot. Because when it's a cartoon, you're allowed to laugh when people get hit in the face with frying pans. I might have some smart things to say about Family Guy's conscious and unconscious debt to All in the Family, but I don't have to say them now.

While we're at it, here's my fall TV schedule, carefully designed so I never, ever get any work done. A lot of the new shows, I'm going to watch the first week or two and then give up when, inevitably, all but two of them turn out to be Not For Me. There are a few tough choices in play here, because I lack a DVR.

MONDAY (Happy new show night!):
9:00 - Heroes
10:00 - Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip
And Weeds, although that's available on Showtime on Demand, so I will probably watch at my own convenience.

TUESDAY (Happy CW night!):
8:00 - the sad remains of Gilmore Girls
9:00 - Veronica Mars
10:00 - Smith, and when I become disillusioned with it, reversion to Law & Boredom: SVU

WEDNESDAY (Happy reality television can be done well night!):
8:00 - America's Next Top Model
10:00 - Project Runway/Top Chef (and maybe I will try The Nine when those shows are on hiatus)

THURSDAY (Happy shows I am vaguely embarrassed about night!):
8:00 - Survivor
9:00 - Grey's Anatomy
10:00 - Shark

FRIDAY and SATURDAY are for having a social life.

SUNDAY (This night lacks any discernible theme!):
9:00 - Family Guy
10:00 - Without a Trace
And Dexter, which, again, On Demand is my friend.
And, come late October, skate-y goodness. Which is usually in the afternoon/early evening, so as not to interfere with my cartoons.

So, anything obvious I'm missing? For definitions of "obvious" that include "Stuff that Mosca would like," not necessarily "Stuff that all of fandom is watching." I have given up on being within driving distance of the pulse of fandom.
