I *like* BTE well enough... their music just isn't really grabbing me like certain other groups have. They're definitely a band that I would see if presented the opportunity (like, say, if another band I adore is opening for them... :) ), but not someone that I feel I need to go out of my way to see.
Collective Soul, on the other hand, I am REALLY liking. I never realized that I knew so many of their songs. Have I mentioned not being able to wait until January? :)
Have you seen them live, though? That's really their strength. I was "eh" about their music before catching them at a free beach show (many, many years ago). They have so much energy, absolutely *love* what they do, and are just really entertaining. I list them as my favorite band to see live, but only because it's a lot rarer than I see CL. Individual shows from those two artists are constantly fighting for the crown of "favorite. show. ever." I think right now we have a tie between the BTE Rock Boat Mikado show and Jenn's CL birthday show in Feb. It's funny because the two acts are very different and I would only ever pair them up for my own amusement.

they're not really opening for BTE, ya know. they're just playing a different spot in the line up.. its more festival like.. they just have bands on the stage all day. and their spot this year is a step up from last time they played there.. which will be nice, b/c 330 was HOT. i boiled to death.
Yeah, yeah. :) Seeing them on the same day is what I'm a fan of. BTE played after CL on the Rock Boat (the ultimate floating music festival) and it was awesome.
No, I don't think I have seen them live. (I can't remember if they were one of the bands at one of the festivals I went to last year... I think it was always Ingram Hill, though. And I'm pretty sure I did NOT see them on the Boat last year

I forgot to say that I was looking forward to seeing Collective Soul here next weekend. Ingram Hill bored me live, though. But I've only seen them once, so it could have been an off night.
Yeah, I could come by myself; I'd just feel less fangirlish if someone else was crazy enough to fly out, too. :)
