Self-pity, party of one

What is it with me and food poisoning and Easter?

About ten years ago I woke up on Easter Sunday so sick that I had to go to the ER for IV fluids because I couldn't even keep water down. We blamed it on a restaurant meal I'd had the night before.

This time I started feeling horrible in the middle of the night but was better by the time I got up this morning, other than being tired and headachey. Foolishly, I decided to have dinner leftovers for lunch. But I have paid for my foolishness. Oh, how I have paid. D:

Yep, the cause was dinner (Vietnamese garlicky roasted chicken with stir-fried asparagus and shiitakes and rice), which I had made myself. H feels perfectly fine, even though he ate more of it than I did. Bastard. Maybe it was the Maggi sauce I bought to use on the chicken. I know that MSG supposedly doesn't really deserve its bad reputation, but perhaps I was having a reaction to it.

I may never be able to eat asparagus or shiitakes again. (Chicken and rice, probably yes.) The Maggi sauce is going straight into the trash.

I had been planning to make calzones for dinner, but instead it's dry toast and Sprite Zero for me. Nummy.
