I am under orders from the flist to watch Farscape "Jeremiah Crichton" with the Starburst edition commentary "When Bad Things Happen to Good Shows," and I'm feeling suggestible tonight so I'm doing it.
You have to understand that this is my least favorite FS episode, and I've only seen it once because THE BEARD was so traumatizing. *shivers* But the commentary features my beloved Ben and Claudia, so I shall persevere!
Waitaminute, the beard was Ben's fault? It was his idea? Growing a beard was the basis for the whole episode? THAT EXPLAINS A LOT.
Football helmet. FOOTBALL HELMET IN SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE!
OMG, first appearance of Satan's pubic hair THE BEARD! Even shirtless!Crichton cannot save that.
Also, since when does purple + orange + artsy-craftsy twig headdress = acceptable guest-star costume? Even on Farscape.
Ben: "Crichton is just a fat white guy wearing a ferret."
"'No, no, no, no, no! Never put a dwarf in a suit!' Well, we did."
All those shots in the procession where you can see the puppeteer holding up Rygel - didn't notice those the first time around.
Claudia: "Holy things coming out of the sky for us, Batman!"
"Frell" was born in the Salt Lake City airport. Heh.

Well, I have to say that when FS was good, it was very, very good, but when it was bad it was HORRID.
farscape,
