Lowe's bribed me with coupons so I got fresh insulation to replace the remnants of whatever used to be insulation in the attic. There was quite a bit of junk left by the previous homeowner in the attic and we had to clear that out before laying down the insulation. One item I saved from the attic junk is
a wooden duck because it still appears to be in good condition. I set it out on the front porch. There were some old books, magazines, and newspapers from the 60s and 70s in the attic but all those were in too lousy condition to preserve. (There could've been mice up there at one time. All the paper items looked chewed up.) I also threw out some decomposing teddy bears, toy trucks, clothes, wooden cabinet doors, and parts from a sprinkler system.
Went to the Eagle Diner in Newark this evening for the
January Diner Meet. I thought it was going to be a small gathering but it turned into a bigger gathering and we ended with 35 people filling up one side of the diner. I was quieter than usual this meet but after the meal, we spread out a little to mix around in the dining area and I got the chance to talk to a few people. I had the
monte cristo.
