Thanksgiving Day - Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess

Nov 28, 2008 01:17

Cloudy. 40 - 45°F. I hadn't been to Dutchess County for about a month but so many new geocaches have popped up in the Beacon area that I was able to make a day of it. One good thing about Thanksgiving Day is all the local roads are quiet. I only encountered traffic delays at the Tappan Zee Bridge and on I-684 but neither of those was for more than 10 minutes. Found 19 geocaches and only the last two were after dark, although the third last one was pretty close to dark.

Dinner was at the Mt. Kisco Coach Diner in Mt. Kisco, NY because it was the closest restaurant to the last cache site that was open on Thanksgiving Day. I had a turkey club sandwich.
