I spent all my break (sunday-friday) up in Austin with my sister Erin. It was really good to see her and spend time with her. And Austins a pretty nice city. But after thinking about it for a few days I really favor Houston. Austins a big college town flooded with art and trees and for the most part its really well designed and a pretty place. But one of the things that got me about Austin was the extreme liberal sentiment, people had a more "get out and change the world" outlook. It seemed alot of the city felt active and alive. And thats all well and fine, but i really have gotten to value how laid back and lazy houston is. Sure downtowns impossible to navigate, alot of it doesnt look to pretty and we have a much more conservative sentiment, but these things become familiar and feel kind of homely to me. One of the images I find increasingly beautiful is this; cracked up concrete with 3 or 4 weeds growing out of its
This kind of stuff. It reminds me of houston, and I appreciate its beauty
