Last year I ripped the Now That's What I Call Christmas CDs to my computer. Since I was at work at the time, I did it as quickly as possible, even though we were not busy and I was essentially alone in the room. My laptop was also not connected to the internet, so iTunes couldn't look up the CD info and left all the tracks as "Track 1," "Track 2," etc. and all the artists "Various." To counter time spent going "who the eff is this? What song is this?" I quickly typed up the names of all the songs and their artists, figuring I'd get around to assigning them later.
"Later" was today. Actually, a handful were assigned earlier as I came across them in the not-so-random Shuffle feature iTunes threw at me while writing.
Today it was discovered that three of the songs have somehow been deleted: Bing Crosby's "White Christmas", Nat King Cole's "The Christmas Song", and John Lennon & Yoko Ono's "Happy Xmas/War is Over". I can't find them anywhere in iTunes, short of buying the songs thru the store, and thus negating the purpose of ripping the CDs in the first place.
Ultimately it doesn't matter. The one song I wanted is still there: Bing Crosby & David Bowie, "Little Drummer Boy/Peace on Earth". (that one is not available for individual purchase, last I checked)
