I have been to the gym 4 times this week. Go me! I'm already doing better than I anticipated, workout wise, though I am trying to not over-do anything.
What I did today:
(stretch)
3 min. on the elliptical, thought I could do more but decided not to push it yet.
15 min on the bike, on level 6 resistance; this was right after the elliptical & level 5 wasn't enough. Ee!
(water break, danced when the Time Warp played on my iPod)
3 sets on the butterfly and chest press machine @ 30 lbs, will up to 40 for both.
5 sets on the ab thingie @ 50 lbs; may up the weight, still debating.
3 sets for bi- and triceps @ 20 lbs; will up the weight to 25 for biceps, but keep triceps where it is.
3 sets on the lateral/vertical rowing machine at 30 lbs; will up the vertical rep weight.*
(water break, chat with my upstairs neighbor and her friend, who stopped in briefly)
15 min. on the bike, level 6 resistance.
3 min. on the elliptical.
I know it's really too soon to see any results, but I like to think my tummy looks a little smaller, and my arm cleavage looks a little less obvious. Wishful thinking, I know, but still. In a few weeks there will be visible results; I'm doing more than I was before I stopped going earlier this year, different exercises if lower weights. I'm focusing more on cardio than weight training, but I'm obviously not neglecting that, either. On the bike I can get my heart rate up 30-35 points and keep it there; I don't know about the elliptical since the heart rate monitor on it doesn't like me.
So, to keep track of my trips to the gym, I've started writing down what I do, and I'll probably start a spreadsheet or something to keep track of that sort of thing. I've also printed out a new calendar thing and am marking out the trips to the gym with little shiny holographic foil stars I got at Target. Much better than the little rubber ducky stickers I was using beforehand; I only have one sheet left of those, and I rather like them. ;) Still no clue what to do about the rewards thing, but I'll still monitor things until I do figure it out.
And I'm so totally going gluten-free. *sigh* Sadly, all I have to eat right now all involves bread or pasta. I'm gonna die. X(
exercise is not its own reward
