So, here I am, being drawn in by my other half and some of our friends to learn new things. I don't mean that like it is bad...because it has been a lot of fun. The only problem is that I sometimes feel out of place. What exactly am I learning - how to play D&D. Yeah, may sound strange since I have played VTM and do participate in Amtgard. But, D&D wasn't something that attracted me when most of my friends were so deep into it. Yet, Brady and our friends have been encouraging and have tried to help explain the little things and so forth.
This weekend was no exception. It is a little odd being the only female in a group of 2-4 guys that already know how to play the game. But, even with all the picking on me, it has been quite enjoyable.
Also, one of our friends has broaden my mind by introducing me to one of his favorite bands, Cradle of Filth. Now, for those that know me...you know that I DON'T like music with loads of screaming and extremely fast-paced guitar and drums. Yet, I have actually found a few of their songs that do not grate on my nerves. But, all in all, it is nice to know that I am not too old to learn new things. LOL
On a side note, yesterday was a little hard on me. I hadn't been on my birth control for a month and it definitely shows. So far, this has been one of the worse that I have had in a long time.
Thankfully, I was able to bow-out of Amtgard yesterday without too much trouble. But, Brady -- and some of our friends -- were so worried that I would end up passing out since I almost fell 3 times while trying to get ready. So, no park for me.
Anyway, I know that I need to go so that I can take care of a few things. I hope that everyone has a great week.
