A Day in the Life for beletteblanc

Oct 22, 2009 08:22

Having Ron Weasley as his mentor for Auror training had its pros and cons, as with all things. The very obvious plus right now happened to be that his desire to sneak away for a day to see Victoire Weasley was sanctioned. Though, Ron couldn't let him off that easily; as he bid him adieu Friday night, Ron made it a point to get in a proper teasing, ( Read more... )

Victoire had taken extra special care getting ready that morning so that she could look extra special for Teddy. Sooner or later, Teddy would have to believe that her feelings for him were real and that she wasn't going to let him push her away.

They had arranged to meet outside The Three Broomsticks, so that was where she was standing, smoothing her hair and fixing her clothes as though she didn't look absolutely perfect already.

Really, Victoire could have worn a pair of tattered jeans, an ill-fitting shirt and kept her hair unwashed and unkempt (not that she would ever look like that, really) and he would have thought she looked just as beautiful as always.

When he saw her, his heart skipped a beat, and he dug his hands further into the sweater he was wearing.

"Hi, Vic," Teddy smiled brightly.

Victoire returned his smile, even if she wasn't sure how to react. What was the proper greeting here? A hug? A kiss? She went with a kiss on each cheek, just like Mère would give.

"I hope Uncle Ron didn't give you too hard a time," she said, sliding her hand into his. "Where shall we start?"

Truth be told, he hadn't been sure how to approach her either. On the one hand, things between them felt far more intimate than they'd ever been, and there seemed to be romantic feelings mutually acknowledged between them, but on the other hand, it was all still so new and tentative.

Teddy, being Teddy, was happy he didn't have to decide, that she'd made the choice for him. He liked the kiss, and it made him feel less nervous, more at ease. When she took his hand, his fingers wrapped confidently around hers, squeezing once with mild affection.

"Honeydukes?" Teddy queried, overly eager at the thought of chocolate.

"Oh, yes, please! I need some more Ice Mice," Victoire said. She smiled and looked sideways at Teddy. His hand was bigger than hers and it felt nice and safe. She tried to think of something very clever to say to kick-start a conversation, but all her wit escaped her and all she could come up with was, "I hope your grandmother is well."

"She is!" Teddy replied, almost immediately, and probably with far more enthusiasm than was necessary; he just latched onto the words because they were nice and distracting at the moment. Anything was better right now than getting caught up in his romantic feelings--there would be plenty of time for that later and he didn't want to inadvertently spoil the mood by being down on himself.

"She's working too much, I think, but...she's good." Truth be told, lately he'd been worrying about his Gran more than usual; she was just looking...so old, and that wasn't something he wanted to accept about her.

"How's...everyone?" Teddy couldn't ask about just one person, as the Weasley clan was quite spread out by this point.

Victoire could tell there was more to what Teddy was thinking. It was a look he got in his eyes. She'd seen it before, in Teddy and others, like Uncle Harry. She gave his hand a supportive squeeze.

"Where do I start?" she laughed, shrugging her free shoulder and holding her hand out. "They are good. James does his best to drag the rest of the clan into trouble, but is always the first to put his head on the chopping block if they get caught. I don't see them that much. I'm busy studying and trying not to get into trouble."

"Aw, James is a good lad," Teddy smirked, the affection for the boy obvious in his voice. He was fond of all of the members of his "family," though some more than others. And he was naturally close with Harry's children. "Dunno what he thinks now, but I remember when he was a kid, he thought I was practically a hero. So did Lily and Al, come to think of it. Kind of a nice feeling."

Teddy shrugged, adding, "Even if they were obviously, uh...wrong about that. So far, anyway. Someday I'll be...a great Auror."

Though he lacked self-esteem in other aspects of his life, Teddy had always been fairly confident in his magical skills and abilities.

"Victoire Weasley staying out of trouble? I'd never believe that," Teddy teased, knowing full well she was the more obedient child in the Weasley clan, and the chances of her getting into trouble were generally slim. "...I could change that. Little bit of trouble now and again's not so bad. Provided it's the right sort of trouble."

Victoire smiled and nodded as Teddy spoke about her cousins. It was true that they did worship the ground Teddy walked on.

"Of course you'll be a great Auror," she said, supportively. "Look at who your family is? There are a lot of heroes around you."

His teasing made her cheeks flush and her heart race with what it suggested. "And what would the right sort of trouble be?" she asked, hoping they were on the same page.

Rather than his cheeks blushing at her words, Teddy's hair turned a dark shade of red as she assured him he'd be a great Auror. He believed it was mostly true anyway, but somehow, hearing her say it made it all the more real for him.

His mouth quirked upwards in a teasing smirk, his eyes shining with a mischievous gleam as he responded, "Well, the right sort of trouble involves you. And me. Us, sneaking off more often like this, when we shouldn't be, but...can't help it..."

Teddy's head dropped to the ground, his confident smirk flickering briefly as he added, "And the right sort of trouble...the right sort...um...it involves me..."

He trailed off, his hair turning even darker as he struggled to get the words out.

His smirk and the look in his eye caused her heart to try even harder to thump it's way right out of her chest and her mouth went dry suddenly.

Victoire had read novels, where the hero would sweep the heroine into his embrace and kiss her passionately, causing her to melt into his arms and had often dreamed about her first real kiss being just like that. The prosaic reality was that what she felt for Teddy was much stronger then even she had realised.

"Yes?" she prompted, her calm voice belying her impatience.

And if she knew that his frenetic thoughts were currently contemplating doing just that--kissing her--her hear was likely to fly off and never return. As it was, Teddy's own heart was dancing wildly and uncontrollably in his chest, and no amount of deep breaths could calm it. The only solution seemed to be doing that which he was currently agonizing over with a great deal of nervousness ( ... )

Teddy stopped them from walking, holding her hand tightly and her breathe caught in her throat as he leaned into her. She could hear her heart racing and licked her lips quickly. She held her breathe as he raised her hand to his lips and kissed it softly. A tiny whimpering moan escaped her parted lips.

"Teddy," she sighed, feeling goosebumps travel up her arm. Not really even sure that this was what he wanted, she closed the distance between them, pulling their hands away and pressing her lips to his.

Teddy knew what she was going to do only a half second before she actually did it, leaving no room for him to protest. And not that he would have, actually. Victoire was only finishing his thought, doing what he'd wanted to do, but had been unable to.

A quiet moan escaped his lips, and he hesitated another half-second before pressing his lips more firmly to hers. He wasn't ready to pull away yet, and lingered there as long as he dared.

[ooc: Hope you don't mind if I nabbed that icon; I was searching around for an appropriate kissing icon but couldn't find one that looked as good as yours!]

Victoire hoped that this was what he wanted. He didn't protect and after the longest second she felt him move into her and she answered his moan with one of her own. She wrapped her free hand around his neck and parted her lips, taking his bottom lip between hers and moving them against each other.

[ooc: Not a prob, it is a great shot - he kind looks like Patrick Wolf.]

The first indication that Teddy was more than pleased to be kissing Victoire was the fact that he made no effort to back away. The second, very clear indication, was that he took a hint from her and moved his left hand upwards to stroke his fingers gently through her hair.

Finally, he did pull away, but out of pure necessity; he hadn't been prepared for the kiss, and so hadn't taken in a sufficient amount of air before their lips met. He drew in a deep breath, and smiled warmly and enthusiastically at her.

"Victoire, that was..." Though he wasn't lacking breath now, he still stuttered, overcome by the moment.

[ooc: He does, yes! It's a great find.]
