Welcome to another issue of Morphicon Miscellanea! Here you can catch the hip n’ happenings of the staff, events and special news of the convention. This year we will be happening May 2 - 5 with the theme “Furries around the World!” Now onto the good stuff!
The all around stuff
First off, for those who don’t know, our Guests of Honors will be the great artists P.Moss and Ebony Leopard! With the convention just barely a month away, we suggest you make sure you’re registered and have a room for the night! We have online pre-registration happening online only until April 18th and afterwards you’ll have to stand in that looooooong boring line at registration while everyone else has fun. So get to it and sign up if you haven’t already! Secondly, don’t forget to book a room at the wonderful Holiday Inn hotel we’re located again this year with the discount code of “MC3”. But hurry up, that only lasts until April 15th! For more information just click on the links or call the hotel at 614-436-0700.
Miscellanea Info and Stories
As some of you may have heard, the t-shirt contest closed and the winner was announced as Shinji Skunk for a cute and diverse image of various furs around the globe, with runner up Marie Mayer with her own version as well. The t-shirt will be given freely to Patrons and Hypertrophes and will be for sale to everyone (along with other past con goodies!) for about $15.
Secondly, to those who are fans of Frozen Oasis, we have some unfortunate news. Due to a variety of reasons affecting the group, Frozen Oasis will not be happening at Morphicon this year. We’re saddened they can’t attend, and express our apologies to those who enjoyed them at Morphicon in the past.
We are also looking for small donations for the raffle so if you have anything to submit, bring it by! The general range for suggested prizes are $5-$10 at most, like little meal toys or the like. Anything bigger is of your own free will!
We will, as always, be excited for any gophers that wish to help out during the con (it can get a little hectic even for us!). Gophers run around and help with tasks directed by the staff. The greater the amount of time you devote to assisting the staff, the lower your cost of basic admission to next year’s convention - possibly as low as a FREE basic admission! Sounds like a good deal, huh? Don’t be afraid to sign up!
Panels and Shows
Do you have a creative panel idea that you would like to help bring to life? Or would you like to help out by running one of the panels at Morphicon currently sans a host? Don't forget to send an email to programming@morphicon.org.
This year we have the usual great shows, among which are the Spectacle of Doom, the Furry Variety Show and Atomic Comedy Hour of Doom!
Spectacle of Doom
If you've ever wanted to experience performances on our stage, you may want to come to the aid of your convention by accepting a role in our Spectacle of Doom show. This show is scripted, so you won't have to worry about trying to think up something on your own. In the Spectacle of Doom, we'll need stage performers (mostly fursuiters), puppeteers, and voice actors.
Furry Variety Show/Morphicon Tonight
Have you got a skit you've been working on and would like some stage time to perform it? You can do so during the Furry Variety Show/Morphicon Tonight! The FVS will be combined with our late-nite talk show Morphicon Tonight, so performance times will fluctuate, depending on how many acts are queued and reserving at least 30 minutes for interviews with the guests of honor. The show always starts off with our traditional "Silly Fursuiter Tricks", so at one point or another, SonicBlu may be wandering around the con floor looking to pick out a random fursuiter at random to open the show. If you are interested, just do something silly for SonicBlu, and he may just select you to appear as the show's opener.
Atomic Comedy Hour of Doom
Attention all wannabe comics, laugh factory professionals, and those that have never performed live standup comedy (but always had that dream.) You may want to RSVP to appear on our stage for the Atomic Comedy Hour of Doom, which will be going on the stage right after the Spectacle of Doom. Depending on how many people we have signing up, the routine time per participant may fluctuate to conciliate with the one-hour time bracket.

Bag Stuffing Party Saturday
Are you wishing that you could start your Morphicon experience even earlier than May 2nd? Would you like to meet some other furs before the con? Here's your chance! Join us and lend a paw as we prepare con badges and stick all sorts of goodies into the con bags. Pizza and pop will be provided. The location is at 1350 Wild Oats Drive Columbus OH 43204 (This address should sound familiar to those of you who have attended functions and Jewel and Trickster's place before) at 6PM until 10PM, April 27th.
