Sometime last year, I had just finished watching my favorite kids show, iCarly, and Nickelodeon announced that the first episode of a new series was going to be next--a show called Big Time Rush.
I was not impressed. Goofy plot, goofy sound effects, goofy jokes--sure, cute for kids, but it didn't have the same zing and underhanded adult humor that makes me like iCarly so much.
Anyway, despite my misgivings, I continued to watch the episode, and I'm glad I did, because it offered me one of the best lines in television history: "I have to go, my pants are cold!"
The show is about a group of guy friends who get sucked into trying to become a boy band, and the president of the music company they're hired by is an eccentric older fella. At some point in the premiere episode, the president suddenly changes his pants, and explains to the music mogul trying to whip the boys into shape that he likes his pants to be warm--there's nothing like the feeling of warm pants. As their discussion is coming to a close the president says, "I have to go, my pants are cold," thus inspiring me to want to use this line to end any and all future conversations.
This morning, I had to pop a pair of jeans into the dryer and when I took them out and put them on, I realized how true this crazy character's line really was--there really isn't anything like the feeling of warm pants on a cold winter morning. Y'all should try it.
But now, I have to go...my pants are cold.
