The Diary of a Young Werewolf Chapter Fourteen

March 31st

Dear Diary,

Tomorrow is April Fool’s day. Such a pointless holiday it is Diary. Students running around, making fools out of themselves and others, this is why I made it a point to stay away from people today. This course means avoiding the Common Room and the Great Hall at all costs because that is where things will most likely happen (“things” meaning pranks). Apparently Peeves has decided to get into some early fun and went around chucking dung bombs at anyone who crossed his path. Until the Bloody Baron came along that is. I have already made my plan tomorrow (which is a weekend thank God). I shall write more then

April 1st

I got a letter today from Puddlemere United. No, not an acceptance letter, but a letter asking me to be a test subject. The nerve! Professor Lupin told me to ignore it so I tore it up and threw it into the fireplace. I wonder how they got my information anyway. Wasn’t any of their business and if they write me again I will tell someone or do something myself and it wont be pretty Diary. I can’t even remember the name of the person who sent it to me. I just sent a letter to my parents and told them about it saying that it was already a definite “NO!” I haven’t got a response yet.

I saw a notice on the common room bulletin board that some of the sixth years would be taking their apparition tests later today. I noticed that some of the students were carrying around pamphlets that held information on how to apparate safely and easily. Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger were all sitting by the fire as I ran up the stairs to get you. Hermione and Ron were bickering as usual and Harry was trying not to listen, then Lavender Brown showed up and it really exploded. Luckily, I got away before the wands were drawn.

Tomorrow Johnetta is going to St. Mungos for some treatments for her condition. They are still trying to figure out who bit her, and I found what could have been several Order of the Phoenix members loitering about the castle as of late. I can hear them whispering about things. One these times was a few hours ago actually when I was walking to the library (the back way so as to avoid anyone who might want to try something). Two older wizards were who I did not recognize were conversing and I could have swore I heard the name Greyback being mentioned. I hastened to the library and began my studies. And it’s funny because ever since ten I have been constantly trying to figure out who this Greyback fellow is. Apparently he is not a popular person from the conversation that I heard. He’s never been mentioned in the Prophet and I have never heard of him before until this point. I wish you had an answer for me Diary, then I would not have to search so much like I have been doing. Perhaps I will write another note to my parents asking them to see if they know anything.
Sarah.
