The Tenth Apland: Keepers of the Cinder-Rose Chapter 13

May 24, 2012 15:52

Welcome back to the Apland Legacy! It's been a long time… but I'm home for the summer now, so I'll have a lot more time to put into this. Finals week was hell… actually the month or two leading up to finals was hell too. But we're back now! I apologize in advance if this update is boring; I have to get back into the swing of things. I definitely got out of the habit of taking pictures while playing.

If you remember from last time, the Aplands moved to Starlight Shores. As a result, Morgan had to restart her garden. But this time she made it much smaller so that it would take up less time and energy.

This frees up time for her to spend training with Dancer.

Bernadette: "Let's see… if train A leaves the station at 9:30 traveling at 100mph…"

Alden: "Berney, are you seriously doing your homework in the bathroom? That's strange, even for you!"
Bernadette: "See if you can find a quieter place. Most people don't disturb you while you're in the bathroom."

Later that evening, after homework was done, Rusty came over. (She must have been able to convince her father to move)
Alden: "You'll never guess what I witnessed early… Bernadette was doing her homework while sitting on the can!"

Rusty: "Oh my gosh! Are you serious, right now? That's hilarious!"
Alden: "I know right! Now her homework will probably smell like shit."
Rusty: "Mr. Knotts will probably think she ran out of toilet paper and used it to wipe her ass instead!"

Poor Berney.
Luckily she couldn't hear her brother's teasing while locked away in her bedroom painting.

That's kind of a dark painting.

But Alden and Rusty moved onto other, more important, conversation topics.
Alden: "What would you think about staying over tonight?"
Rusty: "What would we do?..."
Alden: "As much as you'd like."

Meanwhile… Morgan and Noel went downtown to try and meet up with the local HCRC (Head of Cinder-Rose Council) in Starlight Shores.
Morgan: "I'm not sure about this… how can we know that we can trust her? How do we know that she's not working for the evil witch?!"

Noel: "Hi, Leanne Fox? I'm Noel Apland… we just talked on the phone."

Leanne: "Wow an Apland, in the blood and flesh. I'd never thought I'd meet one of the keepers! But I guess things are rapping up now, we're getting closer to the time."
Noel: "I wanted to meet with you tonight to discuss… the status of things."

Leanne: "You can't be serious. Here?! It's not safe or secure here! The witch could have this place bugged. Not to mention this crowd that your celebrity status is drawing."
Noel: "Well then, what do you suggest?"
Leanne: "I don't know… not here. Not now. I'll be in contact with you though."

A few nights later, Leanne stopped by the Apland household.
Leanne: "Psst. Noel, over here."
Noel: "Wow, when you said you need a secure location, you weren't kidding."
Leanne: "I didn't want to take any risks being seen coming here."

Noel: "Well maybe now we should take this inside… At risk of sounding rude, standing in the bushes in front of the front door isn't exactly the most invisible, unnoticeable location."
Leanne: "Good point."

On the other side of the house, Alden was enjoying the new slipping slide that he just had to have.

Alden: "Say hello to Mr. Studly Seal, ladies."
I hope you don't mean you…

Alden: "Of course I'm talking about myself! That ladies can't keep their hands off of this…"
Rusty sure could the other night… she didn't even sleep in the same bed as you.
Alden: "Yeah, let's not bring that up…"

Noel: "So how are things looking?"
Leanne: "Well the witch showed up in Appaloosa plains the day after you left, so it was good that you got out when you did. She of course has her spies located all over, but she's ramped them up within 200 miles of that place. So you guys are going to have to be careful."
Noel: "Will we really have to run forever?"
Leanne: "Not necessarily, but you and your family will have to learn how to defend yourselves against her wrath. Training will be vital if you don't move far away from here."
Noel: "Well the kids are just settling in again, I'd hate to uproot them again. And who's to say even if I did, that the witch wouldn't just find us there."
Leanne: "Very well, I'll start making the arrangements for your training."

Caprice was outside enjoying the brand new hot tub.
Capri: "My foot look like a ducks webbed foot, without any toes. It's so strange."

It's Mistletoe's birthday… she's turning into an old lady cat.

The next morning, Capri heads off to boarding school.

I ended up deciding that I'm just going to make Alden the heir. My reasoning is not that he is necessarily my favorite, although he probably is. I mean I would be fine with him, Berney, or Capri being the heir, but the fact is that I would like HIM to be an heir, and I've never once had a male heir. So I decided to take this opportunity and choose him. I hope you all don't hate me for taking away your choice in the matter.

Later that night, Alden and Rusty were taking their turn in the new hot tub. And Rusty was making the same discovery that Capri had made the night before.
Rusty: "That's just so odd.."
Alden:  "So… do you want to come over here and cuddle, or what?"

Rusty: "You know, you're just so smug assuming that I want to cuddle with you…"
Alden: "Well you do, don't you. And you can't lie to me, I know it’s the truth."

Rusty: "You're lucky you're so cute… I can forgive you for being such a lame dude."

Alden: "Well we both know who wears the pants in this relationship…"
Rusty: "Uhm.. Excuse me?"

Rusty: "Excuse me?! I thought we decided that we're equals in this relationship. We decided we would share the pants, so to speak."

Alden: "Rusty, I'm sorry. Don't get mad… it's just that the guys at school think I'm whipped."
Rusty: "Oh don't be sorry, because you're not getting anything tonight!"

Rusty: "Muahahahaha!"

<3 Evil Sims

Bernadette decided to do something "nice" for Alden, and started a portrait of him and Rusty in the hot tub. She was actually hoping that it would get him in trouble with the parentals.

But they were a little bit too busy to notice, or care.

Regardless of the motives, it turned out a pretty cool portrait. Very stylistic, if that's the right word.

The next day it was Alden's birthday. Woot woot! Finally.

There goes the first baby of the legacy turning into an adult.

I threw the birthday party for Rust too.

The two lovebirds wasted no time in making up from the night before and sealing adulthood with a kiss.

Bernadette: "Hey, Alden, I got you a birthday present."

Alden: "Hmmm I don't know if I should trust you… it's probably a stink bomb that's going to blow up in my face."

Bernadette: "Really brother, you think that low of me? That sounds more like something you would do… It's your birthday, just go on and open it."

Alden: "Okay, fine. I'll open it if you insist."

And it turned out that Alden actually liked the painting, and it wasn't like he was going to get in trouble for it now that he was an adult.

After the party, Alden asked Rusty to move in of course. Unfortunately, I had to give up Nativity in order to fit her.

Dancer keeps eating all of Morgan's plants. It's starting to really get on my nerves.

It's graduation day for Aldey boy here. Class of 2012! (hehe)

Something must have gone wrong with Rusty's cap.
Rusty: "Are you kidding me? I'm sticking it to the man!"

(Oh yeah… I forgot, Rusty hadn't moved in yet at this point because the night before Nativity was still being put up for adoption)

Rusty was having a rough morning.

Alden: "Well, I'm finally free…"

At least until you have to start working on Monday.

Alden: "She doesn't look so good…"

After they got home from graduation later that night (and after I got her to move in), Alden brought Rusty outside to talk with her.
Alden: "Rusty, I was hooked on you from the moment I met you, and now that we've graduated, I just can't see my life without you in it…"

Alden: "… So will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?"

Rusty: "Oh Alden, yes of course!"

Rusty: "I can't believe it, it's so beautiful!"

Alden: "Wow, our feet do look rather duck-like."
Rusty: "I told you…"

And all was right in the world.

Rusty: "Oh my god!"

What are you smiling about?
Alden: "I totally rocked her world."
Rusty: "Yeah you did."

And that concludes this chapter! I hope you enjoyed it, and hopefully it wasn't as boring as I thought. You should be able to look forward to another update in the next week. Then, we'll be starting generation two's rein.. That is Alden's.

Here's another title cover that I was debating about using, just for your enjoyment.

Until next time,

Happy Simming :D
