And $130 later, Rocket's legs are fine, joints and bones are in good condition, but he got REALLY pissy when the vet poked at the muscles above the elbow on the right arm. So the vet figures Rocket pulled/sprained/whatever one of the muscles up there.
I've never heard Rocket growl and hiss that much. Other than that he was a perfectly-behaved kitty (though we could hear him fuss a little during the X-rays... they wrapped tape around his paws and attached tape straps so they could pull the arms out straight for the image.
Rocket is now limping more from the experience. We declined the vet's offer of pain meds for the moment, because I don't like the idea of drugging the cat.
Then after sleeping most of the day, we went out to the West Maplewood Cemetery and took some photos. I found an actual Woodsmen of the World stone. Also managed a quick snap of a hawk that was flying around calling.
I haven't seen a stone with an actual skull and "Memento Mori" on it since the old German cemetery back home in Waldoboro. Either it's due to those stones being older, or maybe it was a dour New England thing.
