Psychedelic balaclava!

Jan 09, 2010 22:10

I got tired of using the straight needles and ordered myself a pair of Harmony circular tips in the same size, and am now knitting the balaclava flat on circulars and liking it much better. I'm not quite up to halfway through the 6" of this part (the back of the helmet), then I get to do 6" of the top. I'm kind of excited to get to that point because it should start taking some kind of shape then. I tried it on last night and the neck does fit, which is a good thing!

This yarn is so loud it doesn't even photograph well! That or I need better lighting. If I ever get lost in the snow in this thing, they'll have no problem finding me.

I'm starting to consider frogging the little bit I've done of the Crazy Woman in HR Shawl. It's an interesting idea, but an awful big project for a first try at a shawl. My next intended project is socks, and then the fingerless gloves. I think a smaller shawl or a capelet or something would be a better project, but I'll wait on any actual disassembly in case I change my mind.
