So it's that time of year and although assignments aren't out yet the Dear Yuletide Santa post is up so I suppose I ought to write a letter *g* (plus I love being nosey into other people's so I ought to share mine!)

Anyway *somewhat c&p's last year's letter*

Dear Yuletide Santa

Firstly you need to know that anything in any of these fandoms would make me ecstatically happy.

No really.

After that everything's optional *g*

Generally speaking I'm not a big fan of overly marshmallow-y fluff type stories. Happy stories are good! In love stories or happy ending stories or all kind of nice things just not fluff with no conflict or point (though when it comes to Larkrise I'm probably more likely to enjoy really quite fluffy things *g*)

As you may have guessed from my requests I'm a slash fan and if you write me slash that'll be great BUT every one of those requests could be about friendship and I'd love it too. I'm fascinated by relationships, especially ones which are very close in whichever way you chose.

I think mostly I put enough in the requests to give you a clue but here's some fandom specific stuff:

RequestFandom1: Larkrise to Candleford (tv)

RequestFandomChar1: Dorcas Lane/Laura Timmins

RequestDetail1: I'd love femslash of Dorcas/Laura but anything with their friendship would be wonderful. Possibly with a Christmas theme.

I adore Dorcas and Laura as a pair, I like how Dorcas manages to be quite independent in a world which makes that hard for women and I LOVE how Laura looks up to her. I also really like how fun the post office "family" seems to be and would really be happy to see any of the other Larkrise characters involved. I am... I don't know how to phrase this but I like there to be at least the pretence of historical accuracy? So no Dorcas and Laura kissing in the town square :P

RequestFandom2: Georgette Heyer - The Black Moth

RequestFandomChar2: Dick Carstares/Jack Carstares

RequestDetail2: Ideally I'd like something either showing the brothers before the fatal night or after their reunion, showing just how close they are.

When I read this book first I desperately wanted to know what it was that was so loveable about Dick that Jack would sacrifice so much for him. They're barely together in the book but the feelings run deep and they're lovely when they do make up at the end. Basically the brothers being brothers and best friends.

RequestFandom3: Son of Rambow

RequestFandomChar3: Lee Carter/Will Proudfoot

RequestDetail3: I'd like to see how Lee and Will grow up together or apart, either as teenagers or as adults. But anything post-canon would be good.

As with pretty much all much all my requests this can be slash or gen, I really don't mind either. If you go for post-canon I guess I'd like Will and Lee to still be in touch in some way but whilst my inner romantic loves the idea of them being best friends (or something else) forever I quite understand that friendships from when kids are that young don't always exactly last I just think the films events mean they'll always be tied to each other in some way.

I like Lee in his brashness and fierce loyalty and his honesty and his own moral code (I also pretty much adore his brother and the way the two of them clearly love each other). I guess I like Will because he throws himself into things and pretty much believes the best of people but also acknowledged his mistake.

But just them, even them in an missing scene from the film <3

RequestFandom4: Anthony Horowitz - Alex Rider series

RequestFandomChar4: Alex Rider

RequestDetail4: I'd really like some Alex Rider slash, or at least a close relationship of SOME kind between him and either Ben Daniels (Fox) or Wolf or one James Sprintz or Paul Drevin (lots of choice!)

So by the time the stories are up I will have read all the books so no fear of spoilers and really truly all I need from this is something that isn't teeny self-insert Mary Sue fic (if you know the fandom you'll know it's EVERYWHERE). I love Wolf and Fox with Alex because they both, but especially Fox, seem to actually care what happens to Alex and that's kind of rare.

I know I only asked for Alex though so I guess with him I'm just interested in how he sees the world and people around him given how unsettling his last year has been, and how strange his upbringing really was.

As I say, I will have read Crocodile Tears by Christmas but equally if you haven't don't worry, I realise it's only just been released and not everyone will have read it.

But Alex, not het (though gen is fine) and you won't go wrong.

And that's it :D

Now I shall sit her and nervously wait for my assignment!
