Well Happy Easter to all. It's been a nice day. I've been at church a lot (most of it by choice although not entirely, why oh why did the head of our Guild of Servers put me down for 3 services today?
I like Easter morning, it's fun and everyone's cheerful and there is no stress that sometimes dogs the more complex eastertide services. Actually though Evensong was probably one of my favourite bits of the day. All the clergy were exhausted and most of us servers (acolytes) were too and so we were all messing about and joking and it was lovely to be so relaxed. I don't know our clergy very well as I'm away half the year but in the last week I feel I've chatted to most of them so that's something good come of this week.

Give us a heart for simple things
Love, laughter, bread, wine and dreams
Fill us with green growing hope.

Make us a people whose song is Alleluia
Whose sign is peace and whose name is love.
