Last night I went to see The Proclaimers play at the Alban Arena and it was a fab concert and we loved the support act (Blue Flint, Dad went to the foyer in the gap between them and the Proclaimers & bought both their CDs *rolls eyes*) and they're great live and their band was good too (especially Zac Ware on guitar & pedal steel)

BUT

Cut for rage )

concerts, stress

Oh yes, flash photography really winds me up, particularly in darkened areas and when I go to see gymnastics - don't people realise how distracting and potentially dangerous it can be? I know gymnasts etc learn to block out the noise of the crowd, but surely flashing lights must be irritating?

People tweeting throughout conferences/concerts/shows is another major bugbear. The glow of the phone is distracting and takes me out of the moment!

Well of course poor Tom Daley had to appeal & do a second dive because of idiots using flash photography at the Olympics. People Just. Don't. Think.

I reckon the rule is- if the lights have been dimmed then your phone should be away and off/on silent.

Plus they don't know their technology - the flash on a small camera or phone won't light the picture they are trying to take! There's usually 1000s of kw of lighting power focussed on the stage. So you need a camera set to manual and a high ISP (1600+) for it to work.

Oh absolutely. But so many people use flash when it's entirely pointless I'm pretty certain most camera owners have no clue how it works... or have no clue how to turn their flash off!
