Last night I went to see The Proclaimers play at the Alban Arena and it was a fab concert and we loved the support act (Blue Flint, Dad went to the foyer in the gap between them and the Proclaimers & bought both their CDs *rolls eyes*) and they're great live and their band was good too (especially Zac Ware on guitar & pedal steel)

BUT

I did spend far too much of the evening wanting to throttle all the AWFUL, insensitive, self-important idiots who felt it was JUST FINE to carry on taking photographs even after they'd been told not to thereby distracting me EVERY 30 SECONDS as flashes went off or screens were turned on.

I get that in some concerts it's not noticeable but when the audience is in proper darkness IT's REALLY OBVIOUS and presumably distracting to those onstage as well as off!

If you MUST switch your bloody phone or camera on during a show/gig/any event in a darkened room why not at least wait till the encore/curtain call?!

(mind you conversely if you must leave early and insist on saying loud goodbyes to everyone in your row DO NOT PICK THE QUIETEST SONG OF THE EVENING IN THE ENCORE to do so.

*coughs*

SO MUCH RAGE

I did enjoy the evening though, genuinely I did, but clearly I need to psych myself up (or should that be down?) before attending concerts in the future *sighs*

Other annoyance includes discovering Maddy Prior is coming to the Alban Arena on her Carols & Capers tour and I already have tickets for something else that evening :-(

concerts, stress
