So today the Olympic Torch came through my home town. I ended up standing next to a man who showed me a photograph he'd taken in the stadium at the closing ceremony of the 1948 Olympics! There were also a lot of people trying to find out/sharing information about what was happening at Wimbledon. Helpfully the suspension for rain happened just about when the torch was going past so we didn't miss much but it was quite funny to see how the news rippled up and down the crowd!
Very sad for Andy Murray, somewhat amused at all the people who've suddenly decided they liked him because he cried after everyone's been calling out for him to smile! But crying's a pretty understandable reaction when losing in a Wimbledon Final. Of course it's also an acceptable reaction to winning- even your 7th win- and Roger did look very teary <3
Meanwhile over in the Tour de France a baby won the stage. Well not a BABY but he is, at the grand old age of 22, the youngest rider in this year's peleton.
And although Chris Froome lost the Polka Dots Bradley Wiggins is still in Yellow :-D
(and that's my day in sport *g*)
