So ahead of Doctor Who returning I figured why not watch this week's Torchwood... it's kind of unsurprising but apparently my enjoyment of Torchwood? Correlates quite highly with the amount of Captain Jack Harkness in any given episode!

I'm not sure whether my enjoyment correlates with the more of Captain Jack or the less of the Americans. :) But I thought it was very traditional Torchwood (if there is such a thing) and hey, guess what? It's also my favourite episode of the series. Wonder if that's a coincidence? :D

That episode alone was worth the "price of admission." In this case not so much the actual fee for STARZ as the agita and cray-cray of the past two years of wondering if it was ever actually going to happen. Of course I always believed it would, because Barrowman said it, but there were moments of doubt.

It's so nice to see a properly complicated relationship between Gwen and Jack where they're still colleagues/friends but there are limits to what they'll sacrifice and they can articulate those and STILL work together without hating each other... it's a bit unusual too but so much how Torchwood works in my head!
