So I was thinking about the LJ downtime yesterday afternoon/evening (UK time, not GMT as I just type because it's BST... not that it's remotely summer yet)
ANYWAY a poll.

Apparently Livejournal was hit by a DDoS attack yesterday (that's a "distributed denial-of-service attack" for those of you who can never remember what the initials stand for, or maybe that's just me :P)
There are two posts on lj_maintenance about the attack and it's also on the Known Issues box on the Support page.
Rumour has it the attack may have been aimed at a Russian blogger called Alexy Navalny who is an anti-corruption activist (some info in this random_lounge post) but obviously that's just a rumour and LJ haven't confirmed it.
