The last 2-3 days I've noticed a cognitive difference in Zane. He's starting to become focused on things he didn't before. It's a weird thing to describe. He's playing with toys in a different way than what he has previously. Kinda like he's just suddenly realized something new about stuff around him and he's exploring it.
I really like seeing this side of him. I wanted to write it down because I noticed it today when I was getting his lunch ready. I set him down in the family room and he proceeded to get into his own little world and for a minute there I thought he was getting into trouble because he was quiet. But it turned out that he was just being intelligent instead. What great timing.
I hope this means he's about to make a milestone jump then. He is due for one. I'm not trying to rush him into growing up super fast, but I don't want him lagging behind either.
We've been trying to teach him baby sign, he's not taken to it yet. Probably need to do the signs more often, but with everything going on its just one more thing, you know? Eventually he'll start talking to us, I'm not worried. Maybe I should be? Maybe I would be if he was my first.
