Breaking habits and starting new ones

I have a sweet tooth when I am breastfeeding.  It started the day after Rowan was born and it has gotten progressively worse since then.  I cannot help myself.  Cake, chocolate, you name it . .. if its sweet, I want it.  This is not good.  I know it is not good.  I've known it for quite a while yet I have not done anything about it.  I am not exactly known for my willpower.  But now I really really need to do something about it.  Corbin has ringworm.  Its the second fungal infection so far (well, to be fair, it is likely a carry over from the first infection . . . I must not have used the cream for long enough).  I know that much of the problem is likely my very sweet breastmilk due to my very very sweet tooth.  Damn.  I am going to cut way back on my sugar intake (I am not unrealistic enough to say I will stop eating sugar altogether) starting now.  I do not know how well I will do.  I am also not looking forward to it.

We have also tried to start a new "clean up before bed" routine with Rowan.  The toys in the walkway have officially irritated the hell out of me for long enough.  It was not easy but Chris managed to get him to do some tidying up before he went to bed.  Unfortunately, our only bargaining tool is the amount of books he gets read to him before bed.  We don't like limiting books but we had nothing else to use as a negotiating tool that would be effective.  With any luck it will not be needed for long before the habit just sets in on its own.

In other news, we had an exhausting but otherwise good day.  Most of it was spent shopping both for groceries and other things.
