Well, nothing like Swordspoint.* It's modern day and comes complete with heavy Jimi Hendrix references and a good dollop of global catastrophe ;P

It's not to everyone's taste, of course...

Maybe amazon has that deal still that you can buy all three books (Swordspoint, The Privilege of the Sword, The Fall of The Kings) for a nice deal... Amazon Germany has them
