There's a knock at the door.
Monroe ignores it; that tinsel looks very pretty there, doesn't it?
There's another knock, louder this time.
Monroe sighs, puts down the wreath he's holding and walks over to the door, pulling it open. Nick's there; Monroe sighs and turns back into his house, leaving the door for Nick.
“Wow,” Nick says, looking at the living room. There's holly there, tinsel there. Is that a Christmas tree in the corner?
“Just because I'm a Blutbad doesn't mean I don't get to appreciate the holidays.”
“I figured,” Nick replies, looking around again.
“So, why're you here?” Monroe asks as he sits on his sofa to untangle some lights.
Nick holds out the package. “For you,” he explains. “A thank you present.”
Monroe sets aside the tangled lights (he'll sort that later) and accepts the brightly wrapped gift. He pauses. “You didn't wrap this, did you?”
Nick smiles. “The lady at the store did.”
“Good.” Monroe shakes the package by his ear. “Not that I didn't trust you.”
“Well, I hope you enjoy it.” Nick heads for the front door. “See y'round.”
“You won't stay?”
“I've gotta get home. See y'Monroe.”
“You know the way out.”
Nick leaves and Monroe sniffs the package. “Well,” he says to the ball of lights, “It's not plant or animal.”
