Tomorrow our niece is coming to take Dad home this Sunday. When he first came there was no intent for him to go home. My sister bought him a 1 way ticket with the idea he was here to stay. As of this weekend our son moved out to his first "bachelor pad." This will probably one of many knowing how young adults move thru housing. For now he's out on his own and that was his goal. He left with just enough to live with and not enough reality to see it thru, this makes him pretty normal for his age group ( Read more... )

Our bio-Dad is now living with us. That's good and sad. His other daughter doesn't want to deal with him anymore and his son was verbally and emotionally abusing him. Of course neither of them have the balls to tell him they dumped him here. Instead they told him he's on vacation. So we'll see how that goes. I'm waiting to see how long he can ( Read more... )

Almost 2 years have passed since M's death. I can see how the death of a child is hard for people/friends/family to face, but suicide it's still a forbidden topic. Suicide still comes with judgements and fear. It puts a target on your parenting, on your every action. It's an isolator.

I've been thinking about continued contact, after having to talk to my brother, who was in hospital waiting to hear about the dad. Our dad has always been the one person we held out as the semi-safe person in our WHOLE childhood.

We made it thru the fos-mother's visit. She's hard to talk to, she never has a good thing to say about our two youngest sisters, she has to take a dig at everything they do.
