I agree whole-heartedly with your journal entry. Living in an all Catholic dorm at a GINORMOUS university has really opened my eyes to different views of Christianity. On one hand I live with 2 crazy girls who are so Catholic I swear they don't know anything else besides that. And along with them come their crazy views...such as everyone who isn't Roman Catholic is going to hell. But on the other hand I have one sane roommate and her and I see perfectly eye to eye. We know that there is a God and we believe in Him...yet what is the best way to worship him? We have problems with the Church (I won't be redundant, they are your complaints Jota) but we become frustrated knowing we can't get the reforms we want. Unlike you however, I have basically protested against going to Church...especially here at U of I...there's a lot of conservative weirdos and they aren't afraid to put their ideas into mass. Maybe one day I will return...when I will, who knows. As for now, I am content in seeing God in my every day life...through my friends, family, walks on the Quad, long convos with great friends, and of course Konko and my Jota Pie. Good luck with Church, and if you enjoy it, make the best of every visit.
Love always,
Carolyn
