It was nearing noon, but Jason was still curled up in the bed near Asher. He had spent most of the night listening to the vampire talk before falling asleep, then was woken at dawn. He hadn't moved after Asher had 'died', alternating between napping and watching over the man beside him. With any other vampire, he would have been out of the bed right after they had closed their eyes, but with Asher, he felt this need to watch over him.

He had spent the time thinking, trying to work things out. There wasn't anything of his that he wanted from the Circus. Everything he had there could be replaced. Something which he started to work on after crawling from the bed and borrowing a pair of Asher's sleeping pants. They were baggy on him, the other man having several inches of height on him. He'd had to roll up the legs and had to constantly pull them back up, but he didn't care.

He'd made sure the room was secure and slowly made his way upstairs to the office, using the internet connection there. He didn't feel comfortable leaving Asher alone and he knew Nathaniel and his keepers wouldn't be by until about an hour before dusk, so everything he ordered had to be delivered. Mostly it was clothes, but there were a few personal things he wanted as well, such as a new discman and cds. He didn't want to have to stay at the Circus any longer than necessary, but taking his things from there would cause problems. It was much easier to buy new and forget about the others.

It was while checking his email that things kind of fell in on him. One was from Richard's mom, checking up on her 'favorite adoptling', as she called him. He adored Charlotte and wished his mother had been as understanding as Mrs Zeeman had been when finding out about Richard. As much as he wanted to call her, talk to her about things, Richard had forbidden anyone from dragging her into pack stuff after what had happened in Tennessee.

He needed to talk to someone though, needed someone at his and Asher's backs if things went bad. Someone who knew what was going on and hated the situation as much as he did. Picking up the phone, he dialed a number he'd memorized not long before.

"Kate? It's Jason."
