Duel
Steven Spielberg's first movie. Based off of a Richard Matheson short story, it's a very simple, low budget film about a man terrorized on a strech of desert highway by a sadistic driver of a grizzly tanker truck. It's very impressive for Spielberg's first attempt. Grade: B
It Came From Outer Space
Before Rod Serling entered the arena of sci-fi in 1959 with 'The Twilight Zone', science fiction involving aliens from another world were cookie-cutter like this one. Very frustrating plot wise and having a "creature of the week". This movie is dull. Grade: D-
Labou
Imagine if Gizmo was a whistling, swamp gremlin who helps three tweens fight off some oil tycoons and a pirate ghost. That's the movie my father-in-law stars in. The movie is low budget for sure, but it's made for kids. Grade: C-
Nightmare Castle
My second Barbara Steele movie this year and it's a snooze-fest. Evil husband. Haunted castle. Blah blah blah. I should give it an F, but I won't. Grade: D-
