IKEA....

So, I've heard Americans say that IKEA in Belgium is like Wal-Mart in the US. If you hadn't guessed, I made it to IKEA today. The setup (decor, I guess) is very much like Wal-Mart or SAMS Club with the concrete slab floor and open ceiling. The variety of Belgians that go to IKEA is as diverse as those Americans that frequent Wal-Mart with the exception that Belgian children are much better behaved and there aren't that many obese Belgians. Anyways, I found a couple of decent priced beds for the kids that I may pick up there. I'll have to see if a friend with a truck can help me pick them up, unless the deliver?

I'm in French class. Learning the basics. Probably the best things I've learned so far would be thank you and excuse me. Je suis debutant francais. Lentemont.

I'm really liking this band Ghinzu from Brussels. I wish the lyrics were in French but...

Apparently my household goods have arrived in Belgium and I need to schedule a delivery. My car is staged in Germany, and I really wish that it would arrive here as well. The move is almost complete.

Luna....if you're reading this, I know you post about Belgian facts. I have a special request for a post on Belgian taxes, basically the different types and how they're actually used. I find it funny that I have to buy special trash bags from Braine-le-Comte so that my trash will have to be picked up. It's like a tax, but not a tax. Now if only I could find said bags....
