yeah, i mean, i think in a way it should (needs to?) have characters i don't love, but sometimes the storyline just gets a little too ridiculous and soap opera-y...which is bound to happen with anything involving so much sex but still.
i do wish i had tried to read the books first - trying after i've seen the show has proven to be a pain because the early stuff is SO similar it feels like reading a book i've already read three times and it's a boring chore. or i can't get past the disconnect when the description of the characters doesn't match what i already have in my head. oh well.
i watched the first two episodes of walking dead last night and...i don't know. i actually liked the pilot much better than the second episode so i'm not sure how well that bodes, heh. i wasn't looking for zombie horde battles or anything, and i usually like character based stuff but these characters are all so shallow right now, bleh. and everything is so obvious and contrived, like in so many scenes that you figured out wayyyy beforehand i was half expecting when they finally get down to it to hear 'DUN DUN DUNNNNNN'
