[For Chris]

Nearly two weeks into the month of winter and Lennox couldn't find a single thing wrong with it. The weather was perfect, it wasn't too cold, like winters sometimes got in Long Bay, and the snow was fresh and clean, not like the shit that piled up in the streets of cities. It was refreshing and he loved it so far. He imagined he wouldn't get tired of it any time soon either, especially not when he and Chris had the cabin that they did. In fact, if it never went back to their normal hut, if they had winter for six months out of the year, Lennox thought he wouldn't mind it at all.

Waking up to a fire crackling in the fireplace just across from their bed, his husband warm and sleepy beside him and blankets piled on top of them was maybe the best think Lennox had ever experienced. It was probably silly, but there was something kind of romantic about the fact that Chris had gotten up to start a fire and then come back to bed.

When Lennox shifted, nuzzling closer to Chris, he figured he'd actually fallen back asleep, because his limbs felt heavy and warm when Lennox tried to duck closer and his breathing was steady and slow.

"Chris," he murmured sleepily, nuzzling his nose against his shoulder. What he wanted right now was just the warmth of Chris wrapped around him, their bodies pressed close together and he tried to shift closer, nudging under Chris's arm.
