I love food, I'm a foodie. But I don't want to have to be responsible for making 3 meals a day. Too many to think about! All the time I've working here at Del Vallejo there has been a teacher's cafeteria with a separate menu, and eating area. Word went out today, that on Friday they'll be shutting it down. You know what I had for lunch today? Lasagna, garlic bread, canteloupe and a small salad - all for $2. That is a deal that can't be beat. And the food in general is decent to pretty good. And they want to take it all away!!!! NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That means I'll have to come up with something to eat for lunch every day. And it is going to end up being pretty repetitive - tuna sandwich, egg salad sandwich, pb&j, pizza - repeat. That would get old very, very fast. I like being able to walk into the cafeteria and have options. Plenty of options, and salad is always an option. I am not going to handle this well at all!!
On Fri., Mom and I drove up to Big Bear and had a nice dinner. On Sat. we went to the Big Bear Renaissance Faire. Much much smaller than the one I'm used to, but also so much less crowded, which was very nice. It was also cooler, and no smog! We saw my neighbor there, who is part of Queen's Court in the Southern CA Ren. Faire. Darrin was supposed to come up on Sat. and go with us, but he got sidetracked on his bike in the Angeles Forest. Instead he came up Sunday morning, and since my mom didn't want to go again, she went down the hill, and Darrin and I went to the Faire. Good times. I got to see a couple more shows on Sunday, and I didn't buy anything. After the Faire we drove down the hill, and he made dinner. Nothing fancy, one of those Stouffer's skillet meals. Kind of like a pot pie, without the pie - so just the middle, with noodles.
And guess who called after I got home at 11 pm. Who else? The only one who ever calls that late. The most recent ex-bf. He asked me on Wed. what I was doing this weekend, and of course I told him. I found out last night, that the reason he asked, is because one of the doctors he works for had given him tickets to a Raiders game, and he wanted to take me. At midnight, he was still 2 hours from home. While I imagine I would have had an absolute blast, I couldn't get home that late and still be able to work the next day. So, it seems as though things worked out for the best. And in the same sentence he said that he would be back in 2 hours, he asked if he could come see me. NO! I want sleep, and to forget that we ever tried to make our relationship work. Besides, 3 am is late for even him to be visiting. And he then called again this morning before 6 am, but I was in the shower.
So I was doing well this weekend, and last night up until about midnight, when it all came crashing back down. I think I just need more sleep, less drama.
