3 HP fics

Jul 17, 2007 12:46

So yesterday I went to the beach with Kasey. The beach is a wonderful place for sparking creativity and getting sunburns even on overcast days.

The result of my day at the beach: Three HP5 movieverse drabbles, and a sunburn on my back with the shape of my tag sticking out of my shirt.

Title: Pictures and Portraits
Word Count: 134
Summary: No one knows it, but the dead can still see what happens in the world through their pictures. That’s why they move. Harry/Cho with a little Cho/Cedric and Harry/Cedric.

Cedric Diggory didn’t get upset very easily. He was an easy-going guy by nature, and generally just wanted everyone to be happy. When he discovered that he could watch over the people he loved through his pictures (of which there were many, as it seemed everyone he cared about kept one in memory of him), he was delighted. Watching the DA learn to fight made him more proud than anything he’d accomplished in his short lifetime.

But when he saw Harry and Cho share their first kiss in front of his picture, he didn’t care how happy it made them. He was upset. And so his picture closed its eyes and looked away, and if they’d bother to notice, they would have learned that Cho was not the only one to cry that day.

Title: Different isn’t Better, but it is Nice
Word Count: 149
Summary: Neville reflect on the Department of Mysteries battle. Neville/Luna, because it had to be done.

Neville Longbottom felt different after the fight at the Department of Mysteries, and it had nothing to do with You-Know-Who, the prophecy, or Bellatrix Lestrange. He had been in danger there. He knew he could have died. When the small globes were crashing down all around them, a small, pale hand had grabbed his own and pulled him through the hallways to safety. Later, he’d returned the favor, ready to protect anyone he could. Especially those he considers his friends.

Now, as he took Luna’s small, pale hand in the hallway of Hogwarts, he didn’t care about the way people stared at him. It felt different, not to care, but he figured, Luna was different, and she didn’t care either. He bent his head to kiss her cheek, and though there was no danger, led her through the hallways, away from curious eyes. It wasn’t so bad being different.

Title: What Really Should Have Happened the Day The Twins Escaped
Word Count: 200
Summary: I think the title pretty much says it all. My way of making up for the lack of McGonagall love.

Minerva McGonagall was sitting in her office on the morning of the O.W.L. exams, having been told by one Dolores Umbridge that she would not be needed. The sound of screaming sent every sense on high alert, and she hurried to the window to see the source of the noise. The Weasley twins were zooming through the courtyard on brooms, scattering giant fireworks everywhere. On the ground, the students were running and cheering, throwing bits of parchment that looked an awful lot like the Educational Decrees.

One of the twins made a pass near her window, and did a double take when he noticed her there. He looked for a moment as though he were a first year student again, ready to be told off in her Transfiguration class. But when he saw the smile spread on her face, he grinned back at her.

“Give her hell from us,” he said, then took off in a burst of speed to join his brother as they flew away from Hogwarts for good.

McGonagall looked down at the courtyard again, where Umbridge was storming out, red face clashing horribly with her pink outfit.

“Oh I will,” she said softly. “That I will.”

Anyone know a place where I can pimp these?
